Analysis by John Martini:  It looks like this photo was taken right after the 'new' Cliff House opened.  If you look closely there's a building on the south side of the Cliff House -- a waffle stand that didn't last long. Based on photos, it was demolished by about 1913.  The waffle stand shows up clearly in this old postcard view.
