J.B. Monaco (1856-1938) was a very talented photographer who captured early San Francisco through a period of enormous change.  While he took studio portraits of the city's wealthier residents, he also captured the 1906 earthquake in a very personal way.  He also managed to photograph the victorian cliff house...
